• For several years now there has been talk of
Imbassai being modernised, this has taken nearly 10 years in planning,
because Imbassai is one of the most ecologically sensitive areas in the
state of Bahia, Brazil, The Governments environmental agencies in
consultation with the residents of Imbassai, have finalised the urbanisation
plans.
• A cycle path is being constructed around the outskirts
of Imbassai consisting of approximately 6 km of track. Also there will be
several kilometres of paths for walks.
• These paths take you through the village, around the
stunning sandy beaches and along the
river of Imbassai a truly incredible sight.
• New piers are being constructed for the water taxis for
trips along the river Imbassai.

• The plan brings modern facilities without changing any
of the charm and natural beauty the village of Imbassai has to offer, New
electric street lighting, new mains drainage (no need for septic tanks ),
water mains are all at present being installed.
• A new main road will be installed right through
Imbassai with parking for cars in the village centre. At the entrance of
Imbassai, just off the main highway will be a very large area to accommodate
coaches that bring visitors each year.

• New bridges are also being constructed to take you across the Imbassai river
to the beaches.
• A new shopping centre is being built in Imbassai with boutique shops and
restaurants, within a 5-10 minute walk from Imbassai Breeze apartments.
• A sports area 36,000m2 (9 acres) is to be built including
football and basketball
pitches; there will also be nearly 90,000m2 (23 acres) of nature
park for walks, picnic, and general enjoyment.
• 9 km south of Imbassai lies
Praia do Forte, very similar to Imbassai before
its modernisation. After its modernisation, the prices of property
quadrupled in a very short time (5 years).
